The Hunger Games Theoretical Movie Soundtrack

Having spent the better part of this Memorial Day weekend finishing reading not only The Hunger Games , but getting immediately caught up in, and reading all the way through its sequel, Catching Fire , one thing keeps throbbing at the back of my mind: What will the soundtrack to the forthcoming film version of The Hunger Games sound like?

Have you ever had a new song get so deeply engrained in your mind that you actually long to hear it, over and over? Its more than a subconscious earworme. Its a driving need to hear it. Chikita Violenta's song "Roni" is having that effect on me now.

In Memorium... Ronnie James Dio, One Year Later

I'm a fire. Burning higher. Trying to burn the sun. - Elf, 1974 If you are a heavy metal fan, then you very likely remember where you were one year ago today. It was the day we learned we had lost a true legend of the genre, when Ronnie James Dio passed away. Despite knowing he was battling cancer, it still hit many fans and members of the metal community extremely hard. But rather than lament his passing further, it makes much more sense to celebrate some of the incredible music he had a hand in creating.

May the Fourth Be With You... or The Biggest Band Within 12 Parsecs

As the unofficial holiday of all things Star Wars, May the Fourth (be with you) is the perfect time to celebrate one of the best known bands to play the silver screen. Even if you've seen Star Wars Episode IV A New Hope a thousand times, you may not have known that the colloquially known "Cantina Band" has a real name, or that their signature song has a title, or even the existence of diverse and eclectic cover versions which have been done of this swinging song.
