Found on YouTube - Guitarist Juliette Valduriez

Search long enough through the veritable eons-worth of videos uploaded to YouTube and you might just stumble across a real gem. Such is the case with guitarist Juliette Valduriez. To say this young lady from France has guitar skills would be an understatement. Thoughts on her guitar playing and more video inside.

Credit where credit is due first. Props to my friend Joshua for bringing Juliette to my attention. While she is mostly playing covers to backing tracks, she is doing them astonishingly well. Juliette's riffing of Jake E. Lee's "Bark at the Moon" is uncanny, and her use of a Kaoss pad mounted to her Gibson adds something unique to the performance.

While she does take on some very sacred cows with her Pink Floyd and Jimi Hendrix videos, she at least has the ability to play them quite well. But among the best performances on her YouTube channel is (what I believe to be) an original piece.

Again, I don't believe this to be a cover. If I'm wrong, let me know. But what really matters here is Juliette's guitar chops, which kick in just after the 30 second mark.Unfortunately, it doesn't appear that Juliette Valduriez has put any of her talents on disc or download, which is just so wrong because she can obviously play circles around many of her contemporaries in currently signed bands. At the very least, after watching her videos, and despite not being able to grind out more than a simple blues riff, I'm feeling inspired to pick up my guitar and play.
