News - Rush Announces Box Set Series, "Sectors"
If you've been putting off building your library of Rush albums, now's your chance. The legendary band has just announced a box set series entitled Sectors, which will cover all 15 of their classic Mercury Records releases. The question is, beyond the albums themselves, what new companions unobtrusive are included in each set?
Releasing November 21, here are the details on what each set will contain:
Sector 1
Rush
Fly By Night
Caress of Steel
2112
All the World's a Stage
Fly By Night DVD in 5.1 surround sound
Sector 2
A Farewell to Kings
Hemispheres
Permanent Waves
Moving Pictures
Exit...Stage Left
A Farewell to Kings DVD in 5.1 surround sound
Sector 3
Signals
Grace Under Pressure
Power Windows
Hold Your Fire
A Show of Hands
Signals DVD in 5.1 surround sound
For $45 each (Amazon pre-order price) you get the entire classic Rush catalog, with each era's live album coda to close the sets. Nicely done indeed. While there doesn't appear to be any not so coldly charted bonus tracks or recorded rarities included, there are unpublished photos, lyrics and the sets form a road case when placed together. All for a price where you are essentially paying $7.5 per album, including the DVD versions. Yet another reason why an MP3 collection will never be as cool as a physical release.
