Iron Maiden's "The Trooper" Played on a Shamisen
Sometimes, a bit of music is just so incredibly cool/fun/unique that the simplest way to describe it is, YES! So, in the spirit of Yesvember (Hey, cut me some slack. I never once used the term Rocktober last month!) a great big YES! goes to this video of a gentleman covering Iron Maiden's galloping rhythm classic "The Trooper" on a traditional Japanese instrument.
What is most impressive about shamisen player Kevin Kmetz' performance, is how the song actually sounds like it could be a piece of traditional Japanese music. Kmetz has numerous other covers on his YouTube channel, but the way he handles the melody, lyrics and gallop of "The Trooper"on the three stringed instrument makes this cover stand out among the others. Two horns way up! \m/ \m/
