Rex Manning Day Wrap Up - What Did You Do to Celebrate Rex Manning Day This Year?

Rex Manning Day Button by @Isle_Of_Her. I want one!

The official day to celebrate Rex Manning Day (April 8th) has come and gone. By now you've packed away your purple shirts, eaten your cupcakes and listened to "Say No More (Mon Amour)" more times than you can count. And while it is true that any incredibly awesome day you have can and should be considered your own personal Rex Manning Day, I was curious in hearing how some of you celebrated the official day.

Let's start with Marko, who brought the biggest smile to my face when I saw this:

Some people, like John Jofre and Jessica Stone, might have gone a little bit over the top in their celebrations. Good!

Right on, Jenn!

It was also National Empanada Day, Biz Markie's birthday and last day of support for Windows XP! Be sure to pace yourself next year.

Definitely.

Blogger Jenn Errington, whom I quoted for her great ideas for celebrating in an earlier post, has summed up her day in a detailed blog post. I especially liked her thoughts in #7. The whole article is definitely worth a read and major props to her for making her list go to 11!

Now, just in case you had this same question on April 9th or any other day for that matter...

Just remember to bookmark this clock so you won't forget your next Rex Manning Day!

Last year, the Huffington Post picked up on the Rex Manning Day story. This year, People Magazine posted an article detailing Ethan Embry and Johnny Whitworth's live-tweet of the movie via Netflix, which frankly was the best part of this year's Rex Manning Day. April 8th was also the single biggest day of traffic this humble blog has ever seen, so to each and every one of you who clicked, read or at least skimmed my neatly ordered groups of pixels in letter form, a sincere and huge thank you!

Next year marks the 20th anniversary of the release of Empire Records, and by that virtue, the 20th anniversary of Rex Manning Day. Plan accordingly. ; )
