Found on YouTube - The Uproarious Ragtime of Brentalfloss "The Bioshock Song"
The plucky purveyor of patently priceless pieces of musical geekery known as Brentalfloss (aka Brent Black) has released a new song timed in celebration of today's fifth anniversary of the release of 2K Games' Bioshock. And, quite frankly, brilliant doesn't begin to describe it.
Would you kindly press play.
Immediately after watching this video, all I wanted to do was start a new play through of this neo-classic survival horror game and explore the corridors of Andrew Ryan's submerged city of Rapture once again.
But if you set the literalness of the visuals aside and just listen to the song (Yes, really. Play it again.) you will begin to appreciate how the song's Ragtime style is pitch perfect with the underwater art deco design of the game ("...it's like New York, but with more fish..."). The way lyrics capture the very essence of Bioshock is almost as frightening as when the Splicer sneaks up on you in the medical wing section of the game. (No, really. I jumped and dropped my controller when that happened!) And a well deserved +10 to Brentalfloss' Awesome Stat for the line "it's an Ayn Rand wet dream".
You can download "The Bioshock Song" from Brentalfloss' bandcamp page and if you aren't already follow him on Twitter.
