Boosting the Signal - How You Can Help a Comic Artist in the Wake of Hurricane Sandy
Who wants to be a hero to a man who brings heroes to life? Artist J.K. Woodward and his wife were severely impacted by the destructive force of Hurricane Sandy. They were uninjured but the storm destroyed their home resulting in the loss of almost everything they owned. Here is how you can help.
Woodward is selling original pages of the art he created for the Star Trek The Next Generation/DoctorWho: Assimilation2 series along with limited edition prints of other examples of his amazing artwork.
The 11x17 prints are only $15 if you are in the U.S. and Woodward is even handling the shipping costs himself. The prints are also available to be sent to Europe, Asia and Australia. There are some truly spectacular pieces included in the first wave of prints Woodward is making available, including Darth Vader and his "Borg Troopers", Captain Kirk frozen in Carbonite and a stunning scene featuring Batman and Catwoman. I'm supporting J.K. by picking up a print of his piece entitled, Steam Witch.
The Star Trek TNG/Doctor Who art is available (but selling quickly) from Cadence Comic Art and the prints are available directly from Woodward. Times are tight for many people, but, if you want to directly support a worthy cause and know exactly where your support is going, please consider classing up one of your walls with the art of J.K. Woodward and help the artist continue creating his works.
