Help Bring Thomas Dolby to Steamstock!
Attention steampunks and music fans in the Nor Cal region and surrounding environs! A good amount of you (yours truly included) kicked in to make the Steamstock smusic festival a reality. Now, word comes that a true music legend wants to be involved, but for that to happen, some tickets to the event need to be purchased in advance. As if a day of live music from some of the leading artists in the steampunk music community playing as sweet as any harmony wasn't enough, now they could be sharing the same stage with none other than Thomas Dolby!
Yes, you read that right. Thomas "There is so much more to him than just She Blinded Me With Science" Dolby wants to be a part of this ground breaking day of music. What will it take you say? (no, really, I heard you ask) only 40 advance ticket purchases! Really, let's be honest here, there are going to be more than 40 of you at this event. Why not get your ticket(s) now?
For the uninitiated, the Steamstock festival will feature a performance by Abney Park, featured in the video above. Now, in my humble opinion, they alone are worth the price of admission, but, adding Thomas Dolby to the already impressive line up is the proverbial icing on top of the gear-shaped cake.
The doors open at 1pm and the last band will finish around midnight. After consulting my aetheric chronoton-measuring wrist widget, that is nearly half a day's worth of live music, held in an indoor venue so you won't get sunburned! Tickets will are $37.50 in advance and will be $49 at the door. So not only can you save a good chunk of coin (which you can then spend at the planned steampunk artisans alley at the event) but you will be helping to bring Thomas Dolby to the festival! That my friends is called putting the power of music in the hands of the people who love it.
