The Hellacious New Single from KISS

After 2009's too-good-to-be-true-but-it-was-anyway album Sonic Boom, the soldiers of the KISS Army and heavy music fans in general were wondering how would the veteran shock rockers follow it up. Apparently, by releasing a single that nearly blows that previous album away by itself.

"Hell or Hallelujah" dropped this week, ahead of the October release of KISS' 20th studio album, Monster. And what a monster this track is. Turn it up.

You were air guitaring and headbanging, weren't you? Good! What is very apparent from the success of Sonic Boom and the absolutely smoking song you just heard, is that having KISS singer/guitarist Paul Stanley in the producer's chair was an exceedingly good idea. A full tilt, unapologetic rocker of a song? We need more like it. Bands both new and old should be embracing the ideas of the guitar riff, the solo and the sense of fun that comes from playing good, old fashioned and fun hard rock like this.

And lest you think this was just some well produced studio sorcery, check out the band as they debuted the song live on the 4th of July in London, UK.

Normally one doesn't wish the summer to end quickly, but with a track this kicking, at least there is a potentially great rock & roll album looming in October.
