@LinerNotes.com Turns Three
In the words of Bob Dorough, the philosopher, composer and voice of learning to a generation, "3 is a magic number." This humble outpost of music appreciation turns three today, and if you are so inclined, read on for some fun facts about the past year. In an effort to not bury the lead though; thank you, to each and every human out there who clicked, read and listened.
If you count yourself among those who took a few minutes out of their day to read the pixel-born letters which I put in a (mostly) sensible order over the past year, you are the reason atlinernotes.com saw its biggest year to date! Three times in the past year, monthly traffic reached record-breaking plateaus, with the highest peak happening just last month.
This particular bump was due in no small part to a little song that asks a big question. Not only did this article drive the month of September to its record numbers, but the post itself shot up the charts to #2 with a bullet, becoming this blog's second most read article, ever. The Top 5 most read articles have actually changed up a bit over the past year, except for #1.
For the second straight year, Ryan Adams' cover of Iron Maiden's "Wasted Years" has topped the charts for most read article. (Ed. note: Please! This needs to see an official release already, Ryan!) Rounding out the Top 5 is my rather lengthy treatise on the 30th anniversary of Iron Maiden's career defining album, followed by a dedication to a very important music holiday and lastly, by a listen to the popular music featured in the Borderlands video games.
A rather somber query tops the Search Keyword list, as many have come here to read about Metallica bassist, Cliff Burton,
It is always fun to see where you are visiting from. The US commands the top spot, with the UK and Germany making up the now traditional top 3. However, France has passed Canada for the fourth spot! Vive la France!
Enough about my fascination with statistics, numbers and trends. I really can not thank you enough for tuning in to atlinernotes.com. My sincere hope is that by continuing to come here, your ears will find new music to enjoy, or perhaps an artist previously unknown to you will make you an instant fan. Don't touch that dial...
An extra special thanks to Janelle Kay Doyle for creating the wonderful cover for U2's "The Three Sunrises" single, where none had existed before. Please consider following her on Twitter and visiting her online gallery.

Great job! Congrats and keep on rocking!
